Dutch for doctors and healthcare professionals

If you trained abroad as a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other healthcare professional, Dutch is one of the gateways to practising in the Netherlands. The registration procedure sets language requirements. After registration the real test starts: talking to patients, presenting a case to colleagues, writing in the record, and understanding what is not said explicitly.

I have particular experience with medical professionals preparing for Dutch registration and assessment.

What we work on

  • The language requirements of your registration route, including the Staatsexamen NT2.
  • Patient conversations: taking a history, explaining, checking understanding, delivering difficult news.
  • Case presentations and handovers.
  • Medical documentation in Dutch.
  • The informal register of the ward and the coffee room, which colleagues often assume you master once your formal Dutch is good.

Lessons are online and individual, so they fit around shifts and study. Start with a free 30-minute intake and tell me where you are in the registration procedure.
